Wheel
- Wheel in a New Form
The mixed flow wheel includes a wheel cone carefully matched to the inlet cone for precise running tolerances to reduce air leakage and turbulence, improve efficiency and lower sound.
Advanced Design
The design of the flow passage is optimized through CFD simulation and experimental verification, dramatically improving the wheel efficiency over the traditional mixed flow wheel.
Advanced Process
Die-formed and continuously welded, the wheel and flow passage components are of high precision, high strength and greater reliability.
High Balance Quality Grade
The wheel has been dynamically balanced twice: after the continuous welding process and after epoxy coatings applied on the surface. The balance quality grade reaches AMCA 204-G2.5 standard well above the international standard of G6.3. This helps greatly improve wheel balance, reduce vibrations and lower sound.
Optimum Sound Performance
The mixed flow wheel takes on intermediate performance characteristics between the axial and centrifugal wheel. Tests in the AMCA accredited laboratory (AMCA 300 Standard) show that it has such optimum sound performance that a bystander would hear a more bland sound.

Performance Characteristics of Mixed Flow Type
The mixed flow fan takes on intermediate performance characteristics between the axial and
centrifugal fan and features higher efficiency and lower sound. It allows greater airflow than the
centrifugal fan and produces higher pressure than the axial fan. When the operating point moves up and down between A and B as shown here, the mixed flow fan has a smaller wheel diameter than the centrifugal fan at the same speed and has lower speed than the axial one with the same wheel diameter.
High Efficiency and Lower Operation Costs
The optimized wheel and guide grid help ensure optimum flow efficiency, reducing turbulence and leakage. The YFIMF Model fan is AMCA Certified for Fan Efficiency Grade and is rated China Energy Label Grade 1.
Better Sound Quality: Lower Sound Power
The sound quality of a mixed flow fan benefits from the low sound design as well as the reduced overall sound power. The mixed flow fan has a much lower sound level than the axial fan and double inlet centrifugal fan at all octave bands. Moreover, its sound mostly falls into the low octave band (62.5-250Hz) and a bystander would hear a more bland sound.
Fans in Direct and Belt Drive Types for Flexible Model Selection
--The direct drive type features high transmission efficiency, more compact design, low maintenance and no quick wear parts. For the fan of each specification, there are wheels of 6 different angles to choose from to meet the requirements for model selection.
--The belt drive type enables automatic matching in model selection and offers greater flexibility in responding to field conditions. Also, it is more convenient to repair and replace motor.

Technical Specification (Belt drive type)

Fan Type
The YFIMF fan shall be of the mixed flow, belt drive and inline type. It shall be in a cylindrical structure.
Quality Standards
The fan shall be tested and certified in accordance with AMCA Standard 210 & 300. AMCA Seal for Efficiency Sound and Air Performance shall be tagged on each fan before leaving the factory. The manufacturer shall obtain Production License for National Industrial Products and be certi?ed by ISO9001.
Wheel
The wheel shall be of the mixed flow type, constructed of steel and shall include a wheel cone, hemispheric hub and backward blades that are all welded. The wheel shall be statically and dynamically balanced up to AMCA 204-G2.5 standard. Stable airflow and lower sound shall be ensured when the wheel runs at the highest speed. Drop in performance shall be avoided when the operating point moves up or down along the fan curve.
Inlet
The inlet shall be designed in line with aerodynamics and spun with high quality carbon steel. It shall be streamlined for better airflow movement and efficiency, reducing turbulence and sound.
Housing
The housing shall be in a two-cylinder structure: the inner cylinder and the fan housing interior to which the guide vanes are welded. The inner cylinder and the fan housing interior are rolled round and all welded with high quality carbon steel. The motor is located inside the inner cylinder supported by the guide vanes. Also, the guide vanes shall be a three dimensional curved surface to help improve the air performance and static pressure efficiency of the fan.
Surface Processing
The surface of the fan shall be polished to remove any protuberances, welding spatters, burrs, sharp edges, scrap iron and greasy dirt before being finished with electrostatic epoxy coatings. The surface shall be a level one without sags, cracks, cockles or detachment.
Drive Mechanism (Only for belt drive type)
The shaft shall be made of 40Cr steel and heat treated through homogenizing furnace to the hardness level of HB250～280. It shall be treated through hardening and tempering and finish turning processes. The design speed of the shaft shall be at least 25% more than the maximum running speed of the fan.

Pulley: The pulley shall be sized for a minimum of 150% of the driving power. The pulley shall be of cast iron type and taper sleeves shall be used to fix the pulley so that it can be easily removable.

Belt: The belt shall be grease and oil and static proof and resistant to high temperature.
Bearing: The lubricant spherical roller bearing fastened by set screws shall be used. The bearing L10 rating life shall be in excess of 80, 000 hours at the maximum cataloged operating speed. The bearing brand shall be internationally known, such as FYH and SKF. The extended copper lubrication pipe shall be there to feed lubricant with no need to disassemble the fan.
Belt Guard: The semi-enclosed belt guard shall be fitted to avoid injuries.
Motor
It shall be of B3 installation type. The motor is IP55 rated with Class F Insulation and Temperature Rise Class B. Lubrication-free ball bearings shall be used. The coefficient of power reserve of the selected motor shall be 1.15 to ensure safe operation. For outdoor installation, the motor shall come with a rain cover finished with epoxy coatings.
Optional Accessories
Accessories shall be available to suit different operating conditions such as vibration isolator, inlet/outlet safety guard, flexible connectors, inlet/outlet elbows and motor rain cover etc.
Spark Resistant Certification (Only for explosion- proof type)
The fan shall include AMCA 99 Type C Spark Resistant Construction and an explosion-proof motor. At the inlet, there shall be a copper ring mounted. The Ex Certificate of Conformity shall be obtained. The manufacturer shall have the Production License for Explosion-Proof Electrical Products.
Fire Certification (Only for smoke removal type)
As a fan used for smoke removal, it shall meet the relevant requirements of GA 211-2009 High Temperature-Resistant Test Methods for Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilators, CNCA-C18-02：2014 China Compulsory Certification Implementation Rules - Fire protection products. The fan shall be able to run continuously for over 30 minutes without any failures under the temperature of 280 degrees. The type test report issued by state authorized test agencies and a CCCf certificate shall be obtained.

As a fan used for smoke removal, it shall also meet the relevant requirements of EN12101-3 Smoke and heat control systems- Part 3: Specification for powered smoke and heat exhaust ventilators. The fan shall be able to run continuously for over 120 minutes without any failures under the temperature of 300 degrees to ensure the required heat resistance level. The test report issued by TUV SUD and Class 1A certificate of CoC shall be obtained.
Nameplate
A permanently fixed aluminum nameplate shall clearly display the fan number, product model and serial number (a unique ID for each fan) so that the parts used can be traceable by customers.

All testing procedures at INFINAIR’s air performance and sound testing laboratory are done according to the following standards:
1. All design, fabrication and testing guidelines are in strict accordance with AMCA 210, AMCA 300, ISO 5807, GBT 1236, ISO 13350 and GBT 10178 standards.
2. The INFINAIR laboratory has replaced the simple cardboard shielding method duct test with a new generation of precise-flow nozzle matrix systems.
3. Advanced and sophisticated testing equipment are being used in the laboratory.
4. All equipment used in the laboratory are calibrated and inspected regularly.
5. When comparing the results of same-sample inter-lab tests, the INFINAIR lab test results’ margins of error are within the precision and error requirements specified by relevant international/national standards.
INFINAIR laboratory also has the following test capabilities:
1. perform overspeed test in accordance with JB/T6445 Overspeed test for industrial fan impeller;
2. perform vibration test in accordance with JB/T8689 Fan vibration detection and its limited value and other related standards;
3. perform thrust test for tunnel jet fans in accordance with ISO13350 Industrial fan-Performance testing of jet fans;
4. Designed in accordance with such standards as EN 12101-3 and UL 793, INFINAIR laboratory has built high-temperature furnaces for smoke removal fans for performance tests and as a witness test platform for obtaining TUV, UL and other overseas certifications.

INFINAIR Research Institute masters a set of core CFD technology combining theory with practice owned by INFINAIR itself. 2. With respect to garage ventilation system optimization, INFINAIR has successfully developed a new, complete series centrifugal inducing fan with high static pressure as wehll as far projection distance, and guide the ventilation system layout of underground garage of customer. ——Numerical simulation technology CAE
1.Numerical simulation is a kind of application of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), mainly includes two core technologies of CFD and FEA.
2.CFD is short for Computational Fluid Dynamics. CFD simulate-calculates the product performance inside computer, provides guidance for aerodynamic model design (optimize the number of blades, angles and widths) and noise prediction of fan, especially impeller, and thus helps the designer basically predict the final aerodynamic performance without producing so many prototypes, consequently realizes quick customized design or systemic optimization.
3.As a “virtual laboratory”, CFD can realize fast iteration, save cost and reduce R&D period, is a strong tool for effective and reliable fan R&D and non-standard customization, and will provide accurate scheme for optimization of ventilation system.
